Trader Joe’s is one of the supermarkets that offers the best services than any other in the neighbourhood. Trader Joe’s aims to provide a suitable and satisfying customer experience through the workers.  The employees’ dispositions, interactions, and personalities are much heightened and noticeable. There are a number of ways or conditions that may force a manager to be involved in employees’ emotional work for the betterment of the services provided by the company. Some of the conditions may include; when there is a remarkable connection in the success of the company and the nature of the interaction between the employee and the client. And secondly, when the manager leans that the employees are not willing to put much effort into their emotional work under no supervision from the employers. This would apply in cases where emotional labour is directly affecting the success of the enterprise.

The managers at Trader Joe’s are highly misusing these methods of intervention for the success of their business. For instance, in Trader Joe’s’ there is a high connection between the success of their enterprises and the interaction between the client and the employee. This, however, is misused by the managers as portrayed in the case of employees being reprimanded for talking with one another for a minute or two! Which is a violation of the right of employees to express their views.

There was very tight supervision of the employees by their manager at Trader Joe’s, where the employers ensured the relationship between the customers and the workers was well established through facial expressions and one’s conduct towards the customer. A worker was to be cheerful throughout. Workers were being mistreated, demoralized and reprimanded for petty things, for instance, sipping water, faking a smile and apologizing for very tiny mistakes such as being spotted looking confused. You are forced to remain cheerful even when things do not seem right.
